Trainers, Halloween is just around the corner and rumors are coming in that Darkrai will make its debut as a Special Research quest, as a T5 Raid Boss or as EX Raid Boss. In addition, Niantic will release a new Gen 5 Pokemon wave for Halloween, most probably Ghost and Dark Type Pokemon.
Darkrai is a Ghost Type Mythical Pokemon that is not yet available in the game, and as such, this Pokemon would be the perfect encounter for the upcoming Halloween Special Research.
We would most likely get a three-part research quest line, just like Spiritomb “A Spooky Message” Special Research quest back in 2018. In addition, Darkrai Research will most likely be available for a limited time.
For last, Darkrai is marked as transferable in the GM file, which means that Darkrai could be introduced as Raid Boss or EX Raid Boss. This doesn’t confirm anything, as Niantic can change it every moment.
This is just a rumor for now, but releasing Darkrai would make a lot of players happy. So fingers crossed and all aboard the HYPE TRAIN!
