Fortnite Player who Assaulted Pregnant Woman while Livestreaming Avoids Jail Time

One year ago, an Australian Fortnite player assaulted a pregnant woman while livestreaming will not face jail time according to reports.

Luke James Munday, age 27 from Sydney, Australia was sentenced to good behavior after being convicted of domestic violence-related common assault in Picton local court.

Luke James Munday had been livestreaming his Fortnite session on Twitch, allowing audio of the assault to broadcast to his followers from all around the world and go viral on social media. He refused to sit down with his partner and have dinner, which led her, Grace Campbell, to throw objects at him. He then got up and slapped her. this was not captured on the livestream but you can clearly hear it.

His lawyer, Steven Mercael told the court that the assault was just a slap and it was nothing serious.

“He’s a loving caring person with no history of domestic violence. On this day he just slapped his partner.”

Luke James Munday was sentenced to a 14-month good behavior bond on Wednesday.
