How to transfer PS4 data to PS4 Pro?

After the today’s release of PS4 Pro, a lot of owners of the previous model will want to know how to transfer their data to their new console.

There are two methods on how to transfer your files to PS4 Pro: PSN Method, and Ethernet method.

PSN Method to transfer files:

If you have traded your old console to get the new PS4 Pro, or you want to download new games, then just press “Cancel” on the data transfer. All the games that you have downloaded previously, either from PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Store are now visible in your Library. If you go to “Purchased” you can now select all the files and just download it.

Also, for those who are PS Plus members, you have to upload your previously saved data to your online storage. But do this before you upgrade your PS4 Pro. Now, when you go to your PSN, you can download up to 10GB data from your cloud storage. Easy, right?

Ethernet method to transfer files:

During this method, you are not going to be able to save your password, from your previous console. You have to re-enter these passwords to your new PS4 Pro. Also, any un-synched trophy data will not be transferred. But, don’t stress out, you can transfer all your previous files.

Here is how you can do it:

  • First, check your system software is 4.0 or higher
  • Then, connect to your broadband network and sign in to PSN
  • Prepare all the data that you want to transfer
  • Connect your consoles with a LAN Cable
  • Select the data that you want to transfer
  • And then, activate your primary PS4

These methods will help you not to lose your data and have the same files on your new PS4 Pro. But, please have in mind, that you need to do this step by step.

Following my instructions, you can play your favorite game, you will still have all the screenshots and videos that you have made and all messages.
