Kid Gives Charmander Card to Police Officer, Told him that Charmander would Keep him Safe at Work

Bakersfield police officer had an unusual situation when he responded to a call from a 9-year-old kid.

According to the Bakersfield police department, one of their police officers responded to a call and came into contact with a 9-year-old who was very upset. The officer noticed the kid was wearing a Pokemon t-shirt, so he began talking to the kid about Pokemon.

After about 30 minutes of talking about Pokemon, the officer learning the kid’s favorite is Dragonite, and the officer sharing his favorite is Charmander, the kid was calm enough to talk about the situation that occurred.

As the officer was leaving, the kid ran to a bedroom and came back with a Charmander card (the officer’s favorite) and told the officer that Charmander would keep him safe at work. The officer promised to keep the card with him in his vest.

To be honest, this is the most awesome thing I’ve heard in 2020. After all the crazy stuff happening around the globe, this is something we need to hear right now.

Well done to the kid and to the police officer for being the kind of officer that makes a difference.
