LawBreakers is Shutting Down, Publisher Accused PUBG for Poor Sale of Their Game

LawBreakers is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Boss Key Productions and released back on August 8, 2017. The game was first intended to release on PC, and then the publisher, Nexon, has decided to release the game to PS4, thinking that this can be very helpful to increase revenue.

Unfortunately, this resulted in complete failure of LawBreakers, both on PC and PS4, and the publisher will no longer invest in the game, explaining:

“Our results in North America in the third quarter were below our expectations, mainly due to the sale of LawBreakers that failed to exceed our expectations.” But what is very interesting is that Nexon accused PUBG, for poor sale of LawBreakers.

“We had very high expectations for LawBreakers launch. However, its release time proved to be unfortunate, especially since the blockbuster PC online game PUBG released roughly at the same time, which is why the market environment for Lawbreakers but also for first-person shooters, in general, became dull.”

Nexon will no longer finance the development of LawBreakers, and has written off the title.
