A New Gaming Console Based On PC Technology Called Ataribox Is Coming Soon, Check Out The Teaser Trailer
Atari is working hard on a gaming console, said by the CEO Fred Chesnais in an official interview with GamesBeat at E3 2017.
Chesnais did not want to say anything about the device, he said to GamesBeat that only Atari is “back in the hardware business.” The first console was the Jaguar, which debuted in 1993.
A brief video was posted by Atari on June 8, teasing the device that is called the Ataribox. The title of the video on YouTube is calling it “a new Atari product” that is years in the making. The people who are interested in this, are free to sign up on the Ataribox website.
The only detail that Chesnais has given to GamesBeat was that the Ataribox is fully based on PC technology. The video offers some glimpses of the unit that probably has a wood veneer. It has a white Atari logo, that is glowing. It is kind of hard to imagine Atari making a console that will go up against the PS and the Xboxes, but it is nice to expect an NES Classic-like throwback.
