Niantic is Teaming Up With GoParks to Host Events in America’s Parks

Trainers, this is just in!

Niantic is teaming up with National Park Foundation this summer and together they will be hosting group events in America’s national parks.

Here is the official announcement:

We are excited to officially announce our partnership with the National Park Foundation (NPF). Starting this summer, we are collaborating with NPF to host a series of small group events for our players in America’s national parks, inviting gamers to meet up, complete tasks, and explore their public lands. We believe our greatest adventures take place outside. With more than 400 sites across the United States, our national parks are amazing resources to be shared by all.

Last year, Niantic’s Operation Clear Field initiative brought Ingress players together to give back to their communities by cleaning up parks and other public places around the world. Through this initiative, Ingress players raised over $60,000 for NPF!

This year, we are inviting players to find their Niantic adventures in our national parks by hosting small groups in lesser-known parks in the summer and fall. Registrants will help build awareness and preserve and protect these beautiful places while exploring and playing together.

Founded 50 years ago, NPF is the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. Their work generates private support and builds strategic partnerships to protect and enhance America’s national parks for present and future generations. We believe in building a better world through gaming. Be on the lookout for upcoming events and activities that help preserve and care for areas in America’s national parks!

We’re not sure when these events will start (we know it’s this summer, but we don’t have the exact date), so until an official announcement, stay with us get the latest Pokemon Go news.
