Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Found on Userbenchmark database – 2.1 GHz GPU Clock

Nvidia might be keeping a secret regarding the next GPU series, but users have been swirling around the driver files and discovered that RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards had been added to the INF file. The new line consists of Device ID 2206, which is Nvidia Graphics Device. This is how Nvidia codenames the graphic devices preliminary, without assigning any name to them.

These two changes to the INF file and their ID have been confirmed by two users, T4C Fantasy and @_rogame, which is a word about the next series of Nvidia GPUs. According to _rogame, they are as follows:

[Nvidia Ampere]

PCI IDs for GA102 GPUs

  • GA102 12GB (RTX 3080 Ti ?)=> 0x2206
  • GA102 10GB (RTX 3080)=> 0x2206
  • GA102 24GB (RTX 3090)=> 0x2204

The 2206 ID points to a device with 10GB of memory clocked at 4750 Mhz, and the core clock is reported at 2.1 GHz. The clock speeds seem similar to the RTX 2080 one, which is not a massive overlap in performance, but we’ll have to wait and see if the official announcement confirms that.
