Overkill VR Review, Gameplay And System Requirements

Overkill VR is an action, simulation game developed by Starloop Studios.

To start playing Overkill VR, you will need HTC Vive, motion controller and a big room to move left, right, forward, backward and to duck. At this moment, the game is on Early Access on Steam for $19.99.

Overkill VR is a shooting game that will give you 40+ hours of fun. I have played the game recently, so I would like to share my thoughts with you.

Gameplay

In the game there are two sides, the good one and the bad one. The good side is the resistance, where you are the leader and you have to fight against The Faction, or the rulers of the world. There are a lot of enemies you will have to defeat, by using your weapons. Every time you kill an enemy, you get points. Headshots and multi kills are also very important for you. Playing at a higher level grants you points and experience.

Moving around, using in game structures to hide and protect yourself is a great way to avoid any enemy strike.

In Overkill VR there are in total 6 battle zones where you will be fighting against the bad guys. At the moment only two of them are available for battle. The other 4 are still in development. Available zones to play in are East Slums and Rail Yard. In East Slums everything is fallen apart and you will find yourself in the middle of the enemy fire. But be careful, The Faction has the biggest army and a lot of resources. So, try to hide and kill as many enemies you can. Rail Yard or the abandoned train station. You will be seen from far away and the enemies will not have mercy at all. They will jump from the empty trains and try to eliminate you.

The other 4 stages are now in process and their official release date stays unknown. But be patient, soon you will start on a fresh ground.

Quarry, Factory, Suburbs and Warehouse are the maps where I want to kill enemies!

Quarry is the main resource area for The Faction. This zone is under construction and you will not have a chance to hide in fallen houses or empty building like in the previous zones. So, move fast and eliminate your enemies.

The second “in development” zone is a huge factory zone. This is the most important zone for the enemies, because they are doing all the researchers here. Weapons, technology, a lot of buildings full of biohazard and robots waiting for reboot.

In the south side of the city you will find Suburbs. The only zone where the resistance never placed their foot on.

And I have kept the cherry on the top for last. The headquarters of The Faction is in the Warehouse zone. Just imagine how well protected this zone will be? How much help you will need? Try to get as many as resistance soldiers you can, with a lot of firearms and try to confront them.

Weapons

But, all of the above is not possible without weapons.

Overkill VR has a big arsenal. Pistols, SMG’s, Assault Rifles even some special weapons. It is up to you, whether you choose classic, or you go for futuristic weapons. Long and short range weapons that are with great precision and deals big damage. By upgrading these firearms, you will have better chance to win against your enemies.

What I want to see is a Zombie Mode in Overkill VR. I think this will be great and make the game somehow scary as well. You will be fighting against humans and zombies. Sounds great!

But unfortunately there are no such rumors for Zombie Mode.

The lack of Overkill VR is the multiplayer mode. These days, the most popular games are in multiplayer mode. Let’s wait and see if Game Troopers have something special for us.
