UPDATE Pokemon Go “A Colossal Discovery” is a Paid Event

Update: Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go announced a new Special Research called “A Colossal Discovery” featuring Regigigas and players who want to participate will have to buy a ticket. However, they confirmed that Regigigas will be available worldwide as T5 Raid Bosses later in November.

Here is everything you should know about the Ticket and the ” A Colossal Discovery” Special Research:

• Start Date: November 2 at 11:00 AM local time zone
• End Date: November 2 at 7:00 PM local time zone
• Only for ticket holders!
• Special Research featuring Regigigas
• A Colossal Discovery Medal
• Up to 10 Raid Passes for free when you spin a Photo Disc at a Gym
• Unova Stone
• Sinnoh Stone
• Exclusive Avatar Pose
• To receive the Special Research titled A Colossal Discovery, you must open the app during the event times (see above). After you have collected it, you can complete the Special Research at any point.
• The ticket is US$7.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency) and can be purchased directly from the shop. The ticket cannot be purchased with PokeCoins.
• Tickets can be purchased from when they go live until Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 5:00 PM in your local time zone. They will make an announcement when the tickets will go live
• The ticket to this Special Research story event is nonrefundable. (Subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service)

So how to purchase a ticket for the Special Research “A Colossal Discovery?”

• Tap on the Learn More button in the shop
• Tap on the Purchase button
• You will then receive a pop-up indicating that you have received a ticket for A Colossal Discovery. Once you click OK, the ticket will appear in your Item Bag
• Before the event, you will receive a medal. When the event begins and you open the app during the event time, you’ll receive access to the Special Research titled A Colossal Discovery

NOTE: If you’re not able to finish the Special Research during the specific period, you will be able to finish it at a later time. Also, you will have to beat and catch the Regi Trio first and only then you will be able to complete the Special Research!

Previous Story: Trainers, a new special event called “A Colossal Discovery” is coming on November 2. This event will bring new cool bonuses and most likely Regigigas as a special surprise and I’m really sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this will be a paid event.

The “A Colossal Discovery” special event will go live on November 2 from 11 AM to 7 PM local time and players who want to be part of the event will need to have a Ticket. Most of us thought that this will be a free event, but unfortunately, players who want to participate will have to buy a ticket.

The prices for the new Trainer Box, Beginner Box and the Ticket for the “A Colossal Discovery” special event are now listed on Google Play Store and iTunes:

• Trainer Box – $0.99
• Beginner Box – $0.99
• Ticket for the special event “A Colossal Discovery” – $7.99

This will be a direct payment, which means that players can’t spend PokeCoins if they want to purchase the Ticket or the Boxes.
