Pokemon Go Catch Ban/Limit Doesn’t Affect Shadow Pokemon

Trainers, as reported by the Pokemon Go community, after reaching the daily/weekly catch limit, which is also known as catch ban. players are still able to catch Shadow Pokemon.

Pokemon Go has a daily and weekly limit for catching Pokemon and after a player reaches more than 1,200 per day or more than 8,400 catches per week it gets capped.

So, once you reach 8,400 for your last 7 days, you’ll be able to catch Shadow Pokemon as reported.

Here is how the catch ban/limit works.

Once you reach 1200×7 (8400) caught within a weeks time, you get capped. You get your catches back per hour, in accordance to the corresponding hour a week from that time.

So say I’ve already reached the cap, and last week I caught 200 pokemon between 7pm and 8pm Tuesday night. Next Tuesday, between 7pm and 8pm, I’ll be allowed to catch 200 pokemon. Anything beyond that, and everything flees. The next hour, between 8pm and 9pm this Tuesday, I’ll be limited to what I caught between 8pm and 9pm last Tuesday. If I only caught 2 pokemon during that hour, everything from the third pokemon will flee.

So it’s not technically 1200 per day, but, over the course of a week, it’s an average of 1200 per day, and realistically speaking, if you’re grinding regularly at that pace, you want to time it so you’re catching at the same time everyday so you don’t “lose” catches to your catch cap. If you grind in such a way where you get 200 catches one week at a particular hour, but the following week you do not cap at that hour, and say, get 190 catches, then, you lost out on those 10 catches. So the limit rolls, hour per hour (technically not 1200 a day, but, 1200 a day on average).

Now, if you’re wondering how one can catch 1,200 Pokemon daily, I’ve got the answer you’re looking for: Playing 7-8 hours per day and using Gotcha/Go Plus in a bigger city.
