The game that still has many fans playing Pokemon GO has been a bit of a mess with the new IOS 14 Developer Beta update. More specifically players would not be able to play the game because of the IOS 14 Developer Beta update. Following that this week the Public Beta 2 was released which yet continues to disrupt the playing experience of the game.
This was something to be expected because Niantic on an update from June 22nd, 2020 showed that they weren’t particularly keen on making their apps work with “Beta” software. But they did keep a promise that the game would be working well with Android 10 and IOS 13.
Please be aware that Niantic apps are only supported on the latest stable OS versions, including Android 10 and iOS 13. Our apps may not function on beta OS versions.

This is despite previous suggestions that Pokemon GO’s “Supported Devices” included Android 5 or above (rooted devices not supported), and iPhone 5s or above with iOS 10 or above (jailbroken devices not supported).
It wasn’t always like this but Niantic had always had the plan to not let anyone with a rooted or jailbroken device play their games. Niantic won’t likely be very determined on this point forward, either. Previous years Niantic did what they could do against cheaters of their game, but now they have taken more drastic measures and that being that they take action on anyone that could be possibly cheating.
So basically if you are a big fan of Pokemon GO it would be a good time to not try out Beta builds of IOS 14. If you are exploring the world and having a blast with defeating Team GO Rocket enemies and going for Giovanni maybe it’s a good idea to not update your phone, at least for now.
