Update: Trainers, the rumors were true and starting on January 19 from 11 AM until 2 PM/3 PM until 6 PM you’ll see increased spawn rate of Piplup as the January Community Day Special Pokemon, 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance , 3-hour lures and learn the Exclusive move Hydro Cannon.

Previous Story: Trainers, after two years and 24 successful Community Day events, it’s time to move forward into a new year, new 12 months of Community Day events, shiny forms, cool bonuses, and exclusive moves.
Niantic and Pokemon Go announced the first Community Day event of 2020, starting on January 19 from 11 AM to 2 PM local time zone, featuring new Special Pokemon and all the cool stuff.
At the moment they didn’t reveal which Pokemon will have increased spawn rate during the CD event, but according to rumors we might see Piplup, its shiny forms, 3-hour Lures, 2x Catch XP and 1/2 Egg Hatch distance as bonuses. In addition, a new Quest hinting at Piplup has been discovered in the file, which increases the chances of seeing a Piplup Community Day in January 2020.
