Pokemon Go Meltan Special Research and Field Research Tasks

Trainers, a new Special Research featuring the Mythical Pokemon Meltan is now, as well as new Field Research featuring Kanto region Pokemon.

The Special Research and the Field Research quests and rewards will be available from November 16 until November 27, for a limited time. This means that you need to start with the Special Research before November 27 if you want to catch Meltan. If you don’t start with the tasks until then, you will lose the chance to catch Meltan.

Here is the complete list of quests and rewards.

Meltan Special Research

Stage 1

• Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms – 500 XP
• Catch 10 Pokemon – 500 XP
• Transfer 5 Pokemon – 500 XP
• Rewards – x1000 Stardust, x10 Pokeballs, X1 Egg Incubator

Stage 2

• Earn 2 candies walking with you buddy – 1000 XP
• Make 10 Great Throws – 1000 XP
• Hatch 3 Eggs – 1000 XP
• Rewards – 2000 Stardust, 2 Lucky Eggs and 1 Fast Charge TM

Stage 3

• Catch a Ditto – 1500 XP – Hint: Look for ‘make one excellent throw tasks, it gives you a Ditto disguised as Pidgey
• Win 2 Gym Battles – 1500 XP
• Battle in 2 Raids – 1500 XP
• Rewards – x10 Great Ball, x3 Incenses, x3 Max Revives

Stage 4

• Catch 5 Steel Type Pokemon – 2000 XP
• Catch 5 Electric Type Pokemon – 2000 XP
• Earn 5 Candies walking with your Buddy – 2000 XP
• Rewards – x4000 Stardust, X5 Pinap Berry and x5 Rare Candy

Stage 5

• Evolve a Grimer – 2500 XP
• Catch 5 Slugma or Gulpin – 2500 XP
• Make 20 Great Throws – 2500 XP
• Rewards – x5000 Stardust, X20 Great Ball and X5 Lure Module

Stage 6

• Evolve a Magnemite – 3000 XP
• Catch 5 Exeggcute – 3000 XP
• Battle in 10 Raids – 3000 XP
• Rewards – X1 Silver Pinap Berry, X1 Metal Coat and X10 Ultra Ball

Stage 7

• Evolve 1 Drowzee – 3500 XP
• Catch 1 Cubone – 3500 XP
• Evolve 1 Scyther – 3500 XP
• Rewards – x10 Ultra Balls, x1 Charge TM and x3 Premium Pass

Stage 8

• Catch 2 Omanyte or Kabuto – 4000 XP
• Catch 2 Lileep or Anorith – 4000 XP
