Pokemon Go Players Can Now Link Trainer Account with Facebook or Google Accounts

This is just in!

Pokemon Go players can link their Google or Facebook to their Pokemon Go account and sign into the game using any of the login providers linked to their account.

With this change, you will also be able to link your Trainer profile to your Facebook and Google accounts, and use any of those credentials to access Pokémon GO. For example, someone who currently logs in with Pokémon Trainer Club could link their Trainer profile to both their Google and Facebook accounts, and then they can use whichever account they prefer going forward.”

This also means that we’ll no longer be affected when PTC services go down.

Those wondering how to link their Trainer profile with one of the above, here is what you have to do:

Have in mind that the update is not live yet, so this will make sense when they release it

  • Main Menu
  • Settings
  • Account section > select “Not Linked” checkbox next to the login provider you would like to connect
  • Once your Trainer profile is linked, you’re all set.

In addition, those who don’t want to link to any of the above mentioned, or just want to disconnect from one, just deselect the “Linked” checkbox and you’re all set.
