Pokemon Go: Players will be able to do Raids from Home

Everything and everyone is trying to adapt to the new situation caused by COVID-19. Niantic has decided that they will let users participate in Raid Battles from home.

They have also let us know that there will be some additional details on how the gameplay will continue to adapt to the pandemic via a blog post. They say that there will be improvements to Adventure Sync to make their indoor activity easily tracked:

You can track your steps indoor with Adventure Sync so activities like cleaning your house and running on a treadmill count toward game achievements. We’re going to make improvements to Adventure Sync so it works even better with indoor movement and activities.

The most important addition to us is that Niantic will allow us to participate in Raid Battles straight from our home:

We’re enhancing our in-game virtual social features to enable players to stay in touch when they can’t meet in real life. You’ll soon be able to team up with friends and take on Raid Battles together in Pokémon GO from the comfort of home.

Everything right now is focused on adapting to coronavirus pandemic, so it is safe to say that probably there will be more additions to their gameplay. You can read more about this on their blog here.
