Pokemon Go: Raids’ Time will get Extended, Spinning Gyms with Go+ and In-Game Chat are Next on the Schedule

Since the events in Chicago and Yokohama, there have been some turnovers in the game, that left many new and old players confused. We will try to explain some things in this post.

The raids are finishing early only because there has been a leftover bug from the Chicago event, as the eggs are meant to be part of the raids. But they did not want to risk updating the code while the big events are going on. As soon as the events are about to finish, the Raids’ time will be extended, +1 or +2 hours. When we said that the raids should be pushed to midnight, they said that that was too late.

Everybody is wondering if they can spin Gyms with the Go+. We have been informed that the Pokemon Go Company is working on this but it is not easy as spinning a normal stop due to the bonuses for badges, raid passes and team bonuses.

It is in Niantic’s best interest to make sure there are many Pokestops around the whole world for everyone to have access. Adding stops like Ingress portals is definitely on their roadmap, but we got reminded that they are still 6 months behind their original schedule.

You all want to know how do raid spawns work. The raid spawns are split into blocks all across the world and it is set to spawn a certain number of raids across a certain area in a certain amount of time.

Another question is, will we get an in-game chat. They said that they were thinking about it, and also thinking about if it is in the company’s best interest.

We really hope to see these changes in the game, as a lot of players have been asking for the same. But for now, we have to focus on the upcoming Exclusive Raid Battles, train together, upgrade our best Pokemon and defeat Mewtwo.
