UPDATE Pokemon Go Special Friendship Weekend Event Announced, Stardust Cost Added

Update: The new Special Friendship Weekend is going live today (February 8) at 1:00 PM PST featuring 2x friendship level, 2x trade candy and 50% off Stardust trading.

Different friendship level + regular or special trade = different Stardust trading costs, and here is a breakdown that can help you throughout the weekend. Have in mind – the higher the friendship level is, the lower the Stardust cost is.

This event has been announced via Pokemon Go’s official newsletter and here are the details:

Friendships are special, and this weekend, they have extra bonuses, too! Starting February 8 at 1 p.m. PST, be sure to make a new friend, and honor your current friends with special Gift and trading bonuses! Friendship will increase twice as fast until February 11 at 1 p.m. PST, and trades will require half as much Stardust. Plus, receive double Candy for every trade you make! Let’s celebrate the joy of friendship together!”
