Pokemon Go Yokosuka Safari Zone Event Global Research and Ultra Bonus Unlock

Trainers, the final stage of the Pokemon Go Summer Tour 2018 is going live on August 29 in Yokosuka, Japan and will last until September 2. The event will take place in three different city parks, Mikasa, Verny and Kurihama, and during the five-day event participants and players all around the world will have to work together to complete Professor Willow’s Global Challenge Field Research tasks, open the Bonus Reward and get closer to the Ultra Bonus Unlock.

The Pokemon Go Summer Tour 2018 started on June 30 in Dortmund, Germany, and players from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region completed the Research Tasks and on July 7 the players got a 3-hour window (Articuno Day) to catch the Legendary Pokemon Articuno.

In addition, players unlocked XP bonuses for catching Pokemon, hatching Eggs and participating in Raid Battles.

The second part of the event went live on July 14 in Lincoln Park, Chicago, and players from all over the world completed the Research Tasks and unlocked the second Bonus Reward – the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos. Players also got x2 Candy when catching and hatching Pokemon, Rare Candy during Raids and all Eggs hatched half the distance as extra bonuses.

Now, starting from August 29 until September 2, the last part of the Pokemon Go Summer Tour 2018 will start in Yokosuka, Japan, featuring new bonuses, new Bonus Reward and hopefully the Ultra Bonus. As confirmed by Niantic, the last round of Professor Willow’s Global Challenge will take place on September 1 and 2.

Let’s get this clear. Yokosuka participants and players from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region must complete the following tasks to open the Bonus Reward:

  1. Pokemon Go Safari Zone – Complete 100,000 Research Tasks;
  2. Europe, the Middle East and Africa – Complete 5,000,000 Research Tasks;
  3. The Americas – Complete 5,000,000 Research Tasks;
  4. The Asia-Pacific region- Complete 5,000,000 Research Tasks.

When these tasks will be completed, a new Bonus Reward will be unlocked and by the pattern (Artic-UNO, Zap-DOS, Mol-TRES), we expect to see Moltres as the next Legendary Pokemon and up to five free Raid Passes as a reward. This has been confirmed and starting on September 8, Moltres will appear as Raid Boss for 3-hours.

When and if we manage to complete the Field Research Tasks, a new Ultra Bonus will go live. The Ultra Bonus Unlock will be announced on September 10.

Now, the final stage or the Ultra Bonus will most likely bring us a big surprise. Rumors are going around that we might see the following:

Please have in mind that this is just a tease and a hint, 0% confirmed and 0% a leak!

  1. The debut of the Psychic-Type Mythical Pokemon from Gen 3 Deoxys;
  2. Ex Raid Passes for everyone and the release of Mewtwo’s shiny form (this would be a total chaos);
  3. Regional Pokemon swap, or to be available for everyone – the only way for most players to complete their Gen 1/Gen 2 dex.

Whatever Niantic decides to ‘put on the plate’ I’m pretty sure it will be a BIG surprise and will please most of our wishes!
