Pokemon Go’s in-game Changes Increase Revenue by 66.7%

According to Sensor Tower, a mobile market researcher, the fanbase of Pokemon GO has spent around $23 million for the game. This global spending was seen during the week of March 16th, which is 66.7% more than the previous week.

This is quite interesting because Pokemon GO is a game that makes its players go outside and socialize with other players on the playground and catch ’em all. But, due to the recent situation, players were required to sit at home, which made them spend more time and money on the game (for PokeBalls, probably).

This is because Niantic made some changes to the game that will increase the monster spawn rates, which made it easier to see Pokemon inside of your house, rather than outside. It is a rather good choice for people who were made to work from home to find their source of fun. It is a good distraction from the whole situation that is happening right now.

A good amount of that $23 million came from the United States. To be exact, around $7.8 million, which is 34% of the week’s total spending.
