Riot Games’ Tactical First-Person Shooter “Valorant” Closed Beta Details

Riot Games’ first-person tactical shooter, which project was first revealed back in 2019, is getting closer to a closed beta release. Valorant, Riot Games’ tactical shooter, will, for the first time, anticipate the shooter genre, and players will have an opportunity to experience Valorant on April 7, 2020. That is roughly around one week from the time of this writing.

If you’re eager to experience this stylish and character-based, competitive 5v5 first-person tactical shooter, on the PC platform, you will have to follow some steps, which generally acquire an eligible Twitch account. According to the official press release:

Riot Games is collaborating with Twitch, the world’s leading service and community for multiplayer entertainment, to entitle fans with VALORANT Closed Beta access. To be eligible for entitlement to the Closed Beta, players in Canada, Europe, Russia, Turkey, and the United States should follow the steps below:

  1. Register for a Riot account (create a Riot account here)
  2. Link your Riot account to a Twitch account (create a Twitch account here)
  3. When closed beta activates in your region (EU and NA for now), watch specific VALORANT streams highlighted on Twitch for the opportunity to be entitled for Closed Beta access

Just as a reminder, Valorant is a free-to-play game, which slowly emerges to be known as the upcoming Blizzard’s Overwatch killer.

It’s quite satisfying to see Riot Games explaining their goals, primarily when the discussion leads towards server tick rate, performance, and anti-cheat. This will enhance the competitive integrity, but also preserve the mandatory assets for possible “e-sportification” in the future.

Valorant is set to fully launch in multiple regions in the Summer, 2020.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
