It’s Snowing in Tarkov, for the First Time in History

Seasons are coming to Tarkov

Escape From Tarkov players have grown accustomed to navigating various challenging weather conditions. From blinding snowstorms to heavy rain, the ever-changing weather in the game adds an extra layer of complexity to the already intense survival experience. However, recently, Tarkov players have been surprised by a truly unique meteorological event, “raining snow.”

Tarkov’s dynamic weather system has always kept players on their toes, with conditions ranging from clear skies to torrential rain affecting visibility, sound propagation, and combat strategies. However, snowing adds a unique and rare look that has left many players in awe. Imagine walking through the war-torn streets of Tarkov, with snowflakes falling gently from the sky while the ground is soaked from the rain; it’s an atmospheric contrast that adds a surreal twist to the game’s ambiance.

Like any weather event in Escape From Tarkov, the snow adds significant gameplay implications. This weather affects how players see the environment and how they hear and are heard by others. Footsteps become muffled, making it harder for players to detect approaching enemies. This creates a tense and challenging environment.

This event started during the latest Escape From Tarkov podcast on Twitch, which the developer held as a surprise. Furthermore, Nikita confirmed upcoming seasons in Escape From Tarkov once the game is released fully. So we’re about to have Winter added to the game alongside the other seasons. For now, let it snow, and see you on the Battlefield.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
