Trainers, today someone got on the right foot and decided to bombard us with new events, free Masterwork Research, Timed Research, Master Ball, cool bonuses, shiny Pokémon, and many other things. May 2024 is full of events, so let’s find out more about the Flock Together Research Day event.
The Flock Together Research Day focuses on Flying-type Pokémon, many Shiny birds, and a new Timed Research. This event will only last for 3 hours, starting on May 11, 2024, from 2 to 5 PM local time.

Featured Pokémon
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available when you spin Photo Discs at PokéStops. Complete them to encounter the featured Pokémon!
- Spearow (can be shiny)
- Doduo (can be shiny)
- Hoothoot (can be shiny)
- Taillow (can be shiny)
- Rufflet (can be shiny)
Wild Encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild.
- Pidgey (can be shiny)
- Murkrow (can be shiny)
- Wingull (can be shiny)
- Starly (can be shiny)
- Pidove (can be shiny)
- Fletchling (can be shiny)
Timed Research
For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.
This Timed Research will challenge you to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of the featured Pokémon of your choice!

- Doduo (can be shiny)
- Hoothoot (can be shiny)
- Taillow (can be shiny)
- Rufflet (can be shiny)
Pokémon that appear during this Timed Research will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that can be encountered through Field Research during the event.
Please note that Timed Research expires.
The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Saturday, May 11, 2024, 5:00 p.m. local time.
Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends whom they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases – including those made for other Trainers – are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
