Trainers, get ready for a shiny Delibird and a new Gen 4 wave on December 18 as confirmed by the official Pokemon website.
Just yesterday, Niantic and Pokemon Go announced a new Pokemon Go Holiday event 2018, and most probably this would be the last event in 2018.
The Holiday event will start on December 18 and will end on January 2. Throughout this period, players will see an increased spawn rate of Ice Type Pokemon, cool bonuses, new Pokemon hatching from 7km Eggs and Delibird.
On the official Pokemon Go website and on the Holiday event announcement they forgot to mention a few very important things:
1. They confirmed the return of Delibird, but they forgot to mention that its shiny form would also be available. Now, this has been confirmed by the official Pokemon website.
“From December 18 through January 2, look for special Pikachu geared up for the holidays—they’ll be wearing festive hats! Delibird will also make an appearance. There’s even the chance you’ll catch a Shiny one.”
2. Pokemon Go confirmed new Pokemon will start hatching from 7km Eggs – Smoochum, Azurill and Munchlax. According to the Chinese Pokemon Go news alert, Chingling, Mantyke and Riolu will also start to hatch from 7km Eggs –
“7km Eggs have an increased rate of hatching Chingling, Munchlax, Riolu, and Mantyke.”
In addition, 7km Eggs are determined when a player receives the Egg, not the Gift!
3. And third, (not mentioned on the Pokemon Go website, but confirmed on the official Pokemon website) most important for some, new Gen 4 wave will go live on December 18.
“December 18 also marks the date when more Pokemon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will start showing up around the world. Look for a wider variety of Pokemon in the wild, in addition to newly available Pokémon that hatch from Eggs. These Pokemon will continue to appear after the Pokemon GO Holidays event ends on January 2.“
This was a great year for all Pokemon Go players, and it looks like we are not done yet! Good luck hunting and Happy Holidays!
