Pokemon Go All December Events, Christmas, New Year, Special Winter Event and More
Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go announced the Holiday event of 2019 and starting from December 16 through January 7, 2020, there will be a lot of new cool bonuses, new Pokemon, new shiny forms, new Shadow Legendary Pokemon and more.
There are a lot of things to cover and to be honest it looks confusing, but I’ve tried my best to keep it simple and make it easier for everyone, so the following guide can come in handy.

Starting December 1 until December 31
A new Challenging Development Special Research featuring Shadow Zapdos.
Starting from December 16
Eggs rotation! Different Pokemon will be hatching from Eggs.
Christmas, New Year – Starting from December 24 until January 1, 2020
- Holiday costumes
- Ice Pokemon in the wild and new Pokemon Cubchoo
- Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Pichu wearing beanies will be hatching from 7KM Eggs
- Raichu wearing a beanie and Stantler with bells will be in two-star Raids
- Cryogonal in Glacial Lure Module
- Event-exclusive Field Research tasks and rewards
- Shadow Delibird
- Shiny Stantler with bell and Shiny Snover (see the image below for comparison)
New Legendary Raid Boss
Starting from December 17 until January 7 the Grass/Fighting Type Legendary Pokemon Virizion will make its debut in five-star Raids.
Special Raid Weekend
Starting from December 20 until December 23 Lugia and Ho-Oh are coming for a Special Raid Weekend.
Bonuses
From Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at 12:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. in your local time zone
- Open twice as many Gifts each day: For the duration of the event, the number of Gifts you can open daily will increase to 40.
- Carry twice as many Gifts: For the duration of the event, the number of Gifts you can carry in your inventory will increase to 20.
- One guaranteed single-use Incubator per day: In order to more easily hatch Eggs during the holiday season, Trainers will receive one single-use Incubator at no cost once per day during the event by spinning a Photo Disc on a PokéStop.
