Streets of Tarkov is likely coming this year

Let's pray because no solid confirmation has been given.

In a recent interview by Pestily, Nikita revealed tons of new features coming with the wipe, including the long-awaited Streets of Tarkov map. Well, it is about time we stop getting screenshots, videos, and imagery related to Streets of Tarkov.

As per Nikita, the first iteration of the Streets of Tarkov map is completed, and the plan is to release it with the next major patch. This patch is supposed to land before the new year begins, and the map will likely be delivered with the fresh wipe.

This first iteration will be… we plan to release it this year. Before the new year.” – said Nikita. “So many working hours spent on it, and I am pretty positive that you will feel it in every single brick of the buildings.” – Nikita continued.

This means that the map is just around the corner and will be similar to the first iteration of Reserve, where the FPS wasn’t at its strongest due to the “level of detail” factor. Other than that, the map was in a decent and playable state. Streets of Tarkov is supposed to be the most extensive map to date, with tons of new POIs like never seen before.

As showcased in some of the teasers, the map will also include a destructible environment. Breachable walls, etc., everything will be there with the start of the wipe if it goes according to plan. Even if the maps are in a bad state, after release, the developers can tinker with the LoD elements and bolster the performance accordingly within consecutive updates.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
