Costumed Pokémon to give Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when caught in Pokémon GO on October 31, 2023

Update: Trainers, the chances to earn Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL from costumed Pokémon caught are active from 10 AM local time on October 31, 2023.

Previous Story: Trainers, time is running out on the Halloween 2023 event in Pokémon GO. The last day, which is October 31, 2023, is a date you won’t want to miss. On this day, catching costumed Pokémon will give you a chance to get some Rare Candy or even Rare Candy XL.

The Halloween event of this year had its ups and downs. We came across new Pokémon, Shadow Pokémon, and some amazing shinies. However, there were some downsides as well. Shiny Shadow Lugia had a higher attack frequency and a lower catch rate than expected. But we managed to catch it anyway, so everything turned out fine. Now, let’s see what’s coming on October 31 in Pokémon GO.

The Halloween 2023 event wraps up at 8 PM local time, and on this day (we are not sure about the start/end time), you can get either Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when you catch a Pokémon in one of the special Halloween costumes.

Keep an eye out for:

  • Pikachu in a Tricks & Treats costume
  • Vulpix in a Spooky Festival outfit
  • Piplup in Halloween Mischief gear
  • Pumpkaboo in a Spooky Festival costume
  • Gengar dressed in Tricks & Treats

The best part? These costumed Pokémon can also be shiny, so it’s definitely a win-win situation.

We’re not exactly sure when this bonus will kick in, but we expect it to start at midnight (October 30/October 31), and go until 11:59 p.m. on October 31. But knowing how Niantic operates, anything is possible.

This is all the information we have for now. As soon as we have more details, you’ll be the first to know.
