Player reclaims hacked Pokémon GO account after 3 months, only to be Permanently Banned

Trainers, just when you think you’ve seen it all in Pokémon GO, something else pops up that leaves you scratching your head. Now, we’re all used to Niantic issuing bans and warnings, but this recent episode with a British player, BewiskeredBeard, deserves some spotlight.
This Level 50 Team Mystic player had their account hacked three months ago. Can you imagine the stress? After bombarding Niantic Support with what must have felt like a thousand emails, they finally regained access to their account. And guess what happened next? An immediate permanent ban from Niantic. Yes, you read that right.
BewiskeredBeard has been loyal to Pokémon GO since day one, pouring in both time and money. Yet, it seems Niantic had other plans for this devoted trainer.
3 months ago I told you @NianticHelp that someone had hacked me, taken my account and was circulating it round selling groups. After securing my account i was given a termination #PokemonGO #helpme pic.twitter.com/43C8dTvrVd

And let’s talk about the recent ‘Account Warning’ wave from Niantic and Pokémon GO. Players are getting flagged for violating the Player Guidelines on Routes. It’s causing quite a stir in the community, and frankly, we’re not pleased. If you receive any warning related to Routes, it might be wise to pull back on any related activities, as Niantic isn’t really clear on why they’re handing out these bans.
