Pokemon Go Players Can Earn Up to 1,875 Stardust Per Catch for Foongus Spotlight Hour

Trainers, the last Spotlight Hour of 2024 starts on January 30, featuring Foongus, Shiny Foongus, and a 2x Catch Stardust bonus. This is a great event to farm Stardust, so let us show you how to make the most of it.

The Spotlight Hour happens every week. Although it’s just a one-hour event, it’s a great opportunity for players to farm Stardust, and XP, and catch the Shiny Pokemon they are missing in their dex.

As we mentioned, the Spotlight Hour happens once a week, specifically every Tuesday, and this time, we have a chance to catch both Foongus and Shiny Foongus, along with a 2x Catch Stardust bonus. We’d like to discuss the 2x Stardust bonus, so let’s see how one catch can give us up to 1,875 Stardust.

The Foongus Spotlight Hour is scheduled for January 30, 2024, from 6-7 PM local time. During this period, Pokemon Go players will have the chance to encounter Foongus and its Shiny form, which will be boosted, and earn 2x Catch Stardust. Foongus normally gives 500 Stardust per catch, but this changes to 1,000 Stardust per catch during the event. Using a Star Piece increases this to 1,500 Stardust per Foongus, and if weather-boosted, you can get 1,875 Stardust per catch.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning the catch rates for Foongus. The base catch rate for Foongus in Pokemon Go is 24%, calculated for catching a Level 20 Pokemon with no berries. A Curved Great throw has a 50% chance of catching, and using a Razz Berry increases that chance to 65%.

This event is perfect for Stardust grinding. Don’t miss it, so make sure to mark the dates. Trust me, you want to catch every Foongus you see, but make sure you have the Star Piece turned on.
