Manor Lords Sold 1 Million Copies in just a day with New Player Record for the Genre

Manor Lords, the medieval city building RTS has managed to sell 1 million copies, but also set a new record in player engagement record with 170,000 concurrent players in just a day of its release. This is the highest ever for a city builder on the platform.

Published by Hooded Horse, Manor Lords is celebrated for its intricate blend of real-time strategy and city building mechanics. The game’s launch met and exceeded expectations, as indicated by its stellar sales figures and player count.

Over on X, this is what the developer said:

Since yesterday’s launch Manor Lords has already sold over 1 million copies & hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 170k – highest ever for a city builder (or for other different genres like GSG/4x/colony sim). Congrats @LordsManor, we’re honored to serve as your publisher!

This achievement is a god-send for the developer, given the same genres, including strategy games, 4X strategy games, and colony simulators, none of which have previously reached such a high concurrent player number on Steam.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
