First-Party PS5 Games will be playable on the PS4 for a couple of years

We know that Sony has recently been on a roll with their extraordinary discoveries and the next-gen console, the PS5, scheduled to launch on November 12. Yesterday, the company discovered a couple of video games that will be available at launch. Sony has also acclaimed the price range for first-party titles on the PS5, and whether they will be available on the older generation, PS4.

From what it seems, Sony’s CEO has risen his voice regarding this question. First-party titles should be a part of the PS4, and most of the first-party PS5 titles will also be available on the PS4. It appears that there might be some software iteration that would allow PS4 users to play next-gen PS5 titles.

Some of the games that were confirmed to receive a free PS5 upgrade, but were guaranteed to be available on the PS4 was Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, while Demon’s Souls is also among the considered titles to support the older piece of hardware.

In a recent interview with Washingtonpost.com, Sony’s CEO, Jim Ryan, stated what could be an indicator of next-generation games being available to play on the PS4.

“The PS4 community will continue to be incredibly important to us for three or four years”

This could mean continuing the life-cycle of the PS4 for at least a couple more years before every development project solely focuses the PS5 as the only and final destination.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
