Pokémon GO Diancie to be Available for Free via Special Research Story Glitz and Glam Starting May 1, 2024
Trainers, Niantic, and Pokémon GO have confirmed the arrival of Diancie in the game, and starting May 1, 2024, we will have the opportunity to access and complete the Special Research story Glitz and Glam and encounter the Mythical Pokémon Diancie.
Pokémon GO teased Diancie’s return to the game a few days ago, and now they’ve officially confirmed it. Diancie returns to Pokémon Go for all players, via free Special Research.
The Glitz and Glam Special Research will be available to claim starting May 1, 2024.

Starting May 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Trainers who complete the Special Research will earn either an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Diancie or Diancie Candy.

This Special Research story does not expire, and as soon as you claim it, you can finish it whenever you want. Also worth mentioning is that those players who already have the Pokémon GO Fest 2023 exclusive Special Research will receive Diancie Candy as a reward for completing the new Special Research.
Also, starting from May 1, 2024, at 12 AM to May 3, 2024, at 11:59 PM local time, all Pokémon GO players will be able to complete the new Field Research tasks and earn Diancie Mega Energy and encounters with Carbink.
