Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Closes the Gap On Dota 2’s Concurrent Players Record by Passing 1 Million on Steam

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is the game that’s booming and breaking all the high numbers set up by different games in the past. Selling 10 million copies is not a small and humble achievement at all. I hardly believe that any other game will have the power and strength to achieve the same. However, PUBG is one of the most successful games nowadays.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

Back in the days, it was all about two or three games. League of Legend, Dota 2, Counter Strike. Now, they’re just smoked by Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. The game is writing a whole new history in the gaming world.

Speaking of numbers, Steam’s Game Stats holds a new and fresh table. Currently, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is holding the top of concurrent players peak with 1.028.540 players, while DOTA 2 holds the record with 1,291,328. This comes with a high importance for Bluehole, as they’ll probably beat one of the best Strategy games in the world, Dota 2. The gap between the record and Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds number is small, and in a couple of weeks, PUBG will probably overrun it.

For now, we can just sit back and monitor any further number updates, as we’re more than sure that Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Bluehole will surpass the record held by Dota 2.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
