PS5 Price and Release Date Speculation

Sony gave up some details about the new PlayStation 5, what the buyers need to know and expect from it, except the release date of the new console or the price point of it.

Many people did not stop there, they started making predictions that the price point of the PS5 will be $499, while one analyst actually thinks that it will be cheaper than we are expecting.

Pelham Smithers of the Pelham Smithers Associates market say that they firmly believe that based on what the architect of the PS5, Mark Cerny, described the console will look like. It will have the AMD Ryzen 3600G CPU, which will retail around $180 up to $220. Quite perfect to put it in a console with a retail price of $399.

We shouldn’t get excited too soon, because other analysts actually disagree with him. The general consensus is actually the one that will put the PS5 a retail price of $499 because there are already some consoles that cost much but do not have that power. If the predictions of a release date in 2020, there is time for the current-generation consoles to drop in price.

The only way that we will get the correct information is if it comes only from Sony and whether they will decide to reveal more details. Maybe we will have to wait until E3 2020, or later, or sooner than that.

It is rumored that Sony will properly unveil the PlayStation 5 at this year’s PlayStation Experience. Be aware that this is all speculations and nothing is certain at this point.
