Leak: PlayStation website getting ready for PS5 pre-orders

If you think websites are not being data mined, you’re wrong. They may contain a hidden secret inside their source code, which is commonly seen among video games, but manufacturers such as Sony may also leave some trails that can be found easily. It appears that this time, Sony left a clue regarding the eligibility of PS5 pre-orders. Presumably, the PS5 pre-order option will become available soon.

User Kgarvey has noted a change in the source code of the official PS5 website which implies to pre-orders. The discovery was posted on Reddit. According to it, it’s a word about warning messages if there’s something wrong with the pre-order, such as if you’ve added more than one PS5 console.

The leaked information can be verified by visiting the official website of PlayStation. They are as follows:

You can only purchase one version of the PS5™ Console: Disc or Digital.

You have already added one PS5™ console to your cart.

If you want to ensure this is true, make sure you visit the official website and view the source by yourself. Then use “find -> (ctrl+f)” and start typing the line above. You’ll notice both of the messages right next to each other.

This somewhat confirms that Sony is getting ready for the PS5 pre-orders that are most likely to come in huge waves. According to the Kgarvey, pre-orders are imminent, and they have the potential to become available in the next two weeks.

Similar to the PS4 launch, Sony will institute a strict household limit for PS5 pre-orders, and interestingly will not distinguish between disk and digital SKUs. Of course, you can always simply pre-order from multiple retailers if undecided.

Are you ready for Sony’s next-gen console, and will you be among the first ones to pre-order? Let us know in the comments below!
