Pokemon Go Crackling Voltage and Team Go Rocket Takeover Events

Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go have just announced a new in-game event called Crackling Voltage. This event brings shiny Helioptile and shiny Tapu Koko for the first time in the game. Team Go Rocket will also try to take over the Pokemon Go world again, so let’s see everything this event offers below.

The Crackling Voltage event is a limited-time event that runs from January 27, 2023, to February 5, 2023. During this period Pokemon Go players will see more Electric-type Pokemon in the wild, encounter new shiny forms, hatch different Pokemon from Eggs, and save Shadow Registeel from Team Go Rocket.

Here is everything you need to know about the two overlapping events in Pokemon Go.

Crackling Voltage Event Pokemon Go

  • Start/End: Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time
  • The following Pokemon will appear more often in the wild: Ekans, Magnemite, Grimer, Electrike, Stunky, Blitzle, Ferroseed, Helioptile, Grubbin, Beldum, and Dedenne
  • Different Pokemon in Raids: shiny Helioptile in one-star Raids, shiny Tapu Koko in five-star Raids. Mega Gengar and Mega Aerodactyl will appear in Mega Raids
  • 7KM Eggs Hatches: Alolan Sandshrew, Skarmory, Blitzle, Stunfisk, Galarian Stunfisk, Helioptile, and Dedenne
  • Field Research tasks encounter: Voltorb, Hisuian Voltorb, Plusle, Minun, Emolga, and Helioptile

Team Go Rocket Takeover Event Pokemon Go

  • Start/End: From Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 5, at 11:59 p.m. local time
  • Team Go Rocket Leaders and Giovanni will use different Shadow Pokemon lineups
  • Giovanni will now have Shadow Registeel
  • New Team Go Rocket Special Research story
  • Event bonuses: Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons. You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration
  • New 12KM Egg pool: Larvitar, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, Deino, Pancham, Skrelp, and Salandit
  • Field Research task to award Mysterious Component
