despelote Debuting On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC Next Year

To add to the success of a game is to give it an eye-catching name. In this case, using lowercase letters is what the creators decided to do.

Announced by Panic, Julian Cordero and Sebastian Valbuena, the game titled despelote is set to make its debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (via Steam) sometime in 2024.

The game despelote is about soccer, how the sport is played and what it is all about. Bring Ecuador to the World Cup qualifications and feel the excitement around you as you listen to Julian, an eight-year-old child.

Here is the statement coming from the team:

“We’ve been pretty quiet since launching Untitled Goose Game and announcing Nour: Play With Your Food, but we’ve been actively taking pitches these past few years,” said Panic head of publishing Nick Suttner in a press release. “We were really taken with despelote when it came our way—a deeply transportive love letter to a particular time and place, told in such a wry, charming way that it manages to feel universal at the same time. We’re so proud to be able to help bring it to the world. (And we have a bunch more game announcements coming later this year—this is just the start!)”

What do you think about the game?
