Pokemon Go Forgot To Turn on Night Encounters and Nighttime Collection Challenge

Update: Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go confirmed the Night spawns, and the Night Collection Challenge will now appear from 6 PM until 6 AM local time.

Trainers, the Solstice Horizons is underway, and the Daytime encounters and Collection Challenge should be over, and the game should be switching to Night encounters and the Nighttime Collection Challenge.

The Pokemon Go Solstice Horizons event offers two different experiences, Day and Night. During the Daytime players can encounter specific Pokemon and complete the Daytime Collection Challenge. During the Nighttime experience, players can encounter different Pokemon and complete the Nighttime Collection Challenge.

Well, it looks like they forgot about this change, as players as still getting the Daytime encounters.

Many players are experiencing this issue, and as Joe says, this could be a problem as some players will be unable to do the Nighttime Collection Challenge.

  1. Not getting msg nighttime spawns here in Pennsylvania. Can’t find a way to contact Pokémon to notify them of the issue

  2. Well I live 200km above the Arctic circle and we don’t even have nighttime in the game for another 6 week or so, because of the midnight sun. So we are kind of f***** anyway on this event.

  3. I’m in SE Asia.
The spawn changed on midnight yesterday. So I just cleared it this morning, before 6AM.
And today, the spawn only changed after 8PM too. Someone on Niantic is high or doesn’t set the time region correctly. Which is not surprising.

  4. It’s because nighttime spawns happen 2 hours after sunset and until two hours after sunrise (they didn’t forget to put in the spawns) I don’t know why it’s this way but the 2 hours after sunset feature was added 5 years ago

  5. It’s only an hour after sunset here. All my Pokémon that have a time (day/night) have switched to night but the spawns. Haven’t. I was also up Long after 2 hours after 2 hours after sunset last night and at best was getting a mix of spawns. Still getting suns, and day time spawns with a few quest specific Pokémon sprinkled in but no other night spawns.
