Pokemon Go Niantic Confirms Completing Three-Star or Higher Shadow Raids Doesn’t Count Towards “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” Task

Trainers, it looks like completing Shadow Raids doesn’t count towards the “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task, and only Normal Raids apply.
A Pokemon Go player contacted Niantic Support on Twitter due to a bug, well we thought it was a bug before they confirmed it was not, asking what he did wrong and why completing three Shadow Raids doesn’t count towards “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task.
Niantic Support responded, confirming participating in three-star or higher Shadow Raids will not count toward the task progress. Only Normal Raids count. Silly, right?
We'll clarify, Sanskar! Participating in three-star or higher Shadow Raids will not count towards the task progress. However, it should if you participate in a normal three-star raid or higher. Let us know if you still have this problem! ^GA

The Pokemon Go player wasted his pass, didn’t complete the task, and didn’t get the 500 XP reward. It looks like this is not a bug, it is a feature now.
Many players are now coming forward, saying that three-star or higher Shadow Raids counted toward completing the “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task. So what does this mean now?
What is your opinion on this change? We think this is a ridiculous, unnecessary change on Niantic’s part.
I’ve been playing since 2016. It’s at the point for me, I’ve come to expect crap like this from Niantic. Bottom line, I don’t spend money with Niantic, and I turned off my tracker.
