Pokemon Go Niantic Confirms Completing Three-Star or Higher Shadow Raids Doesn’t Count Towards “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” Task

Trainers, it looks like completing Shadow Raids doesn’t count towards the “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task, and only Normal Raids apply.

A Pokemon Go player contacted Niantic Support on Twitter due to a bug, well we thought it was a bug before they confirmed it was not, asking what he did wrong and why completing three Shadow Raids doesn’t count towards “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task.

Niantic Support responded, confirming participating in three-star or higher Shadow Raids will not count toward the task progress. Only Normal Raids count. Silly, right?

The Pokemon Go player wasted his pass, didn’t complete the task, and didn’t get the 500 XP reward. It looks like this is not a bug, it is a feature now.

Many players are now coming forward, saying that three-star or higher Shadow Raids counted toward completing the “Win a Raid Tier 3 or High and Similars” task. So what does this mean now?

What is your opinion on this change? We think this is a ridiculous, unnecessary change on Niantic’s part.

  1. I’ve been playing since 2016. It’s at the point for me, I’ve come to expect crap like this from Niantic. Bottom line, I don’t spend money with Niantic, and I turned off my tracker.
