The Game Awards 2023 Nominee Announcement Incoming

As we inch closer to the end of the year, fans are getting prepared for November 13th, when the nominees for the Game Awards 2023 will be rolled out. It’s a date for casual and hardcore gamers alike to circle on their calendars. Why? Because this is when we get a snapshot of the games that have defined the year.

The big reveal is happening live, courtesy of Geoff Keighley, who you might know as the face of the Game Awards. He’s the guy who’s been running the show since it started, and he’s got the scoop on which games are in the running across more than 30 different categories. If you’re interested in the gaming industry, this is the kind of thing you’d want to tune in for. It’s set to kick off at 9 AM PT.

The year 2023 has been a bit of a treat for us gamers. We’ve seen some heavy hitters make their mark. When we talk Game of the Year, it’s looking like a proper showdown. We’ve got the dreamers’ delight, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the heart-racing thrills of Resident Evil 4. Not to forget, the recently released Alan Wake 2 has been giving folks a good reason to leave the lights on at night. Let’s not forget the other contenders like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s shaping up to be a mix of worlds and stories vying for the top spot.

Aside from which game takes home the big prize, there’s also some chatter about a first look at Grand Theft Auto 6 during the show, thanks to a bit of nudge-nudge from Rockstar Games. And while that’s all good and exciting, let’s not sidestep the fact that the awards are pretty special too. The Game Awards Orchestra is set to return, and if past years are anything to go by, they’re quite the treat for the ears.

The main event, where all the winners are crowned, is on December 7th at 4:30 PM PT. That’s when all the predictions and debates come to a head.
