Bethesda Remains Mum on Xbox Exclusivity for Marvel’s Blade

At the recent Game Awards, a major highlight was the announcement of Marvel’s Blade, a new blockbuster game from Arkane Lyon. Despite the excitement, a significant detail was notably absent. The game’s exclusivity to Xbox consoles. This omission has sparked curiosity and speculation in the gaming community, particularly given Arkane’s connection to Microsoft through Zenimax, its parent company.

It seems that Bethesda has given on on giving any details regarding exclusivity (via VG247).

Major releases from Microsoft-owned studios typically come with clear indications of Xbox exclusivity. However, the promotional materials for Marvel’s Blade conspicuously lack any mention of Xbox – a stark contrast to how games like Starfield were presented. The announcement trailer and subsequent coverage did not refer to Xbox, an approach that diverges from what we’ve seen with other Bethesda titles like Redfall.

Marvel’s Blade is set to take players to a quarantined section of Paris amidst a supernatural emergency where vampires are causing havoc. The game promises to deliver an immersive experience, leveraging Arkane’s reputation for creating rich, detailed game worlds.

The difference in how Marvel’s Blade has been presented, compared to other Bethesda titles announced in Xbox-centric events, is notable. While it could be attributed to the non-Xbox-specific nature of The Game Awards, the absence of any Xbox branding remains a point of interest for industry observers.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
