From a Modder to a Millionaire: PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS

Being an ordinary person won’t put you through the path of life, but, being a modder, well… things might get interesting. Brendan Greene’s, probably the world’s most popular modder, knowing the fact that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been the latest million copy seller on Steam. Just as the title says, from a modder to a millionaire.

Only people with strong will and dedication can get this kind of achievement. You cannot see someone born yesterday to achieve something like this.

from a modder to a millionaire

Kotaku reveals that Brendan Greene has started modding since the days of Arma 2 and received a boost that thanks to the-greatest-zombie-of-all-is-man sandbox DayZ.

They’ve also stated that he’s being inspired by a Japanese book and film Battle Royale which gave him the idea to modd DayZ into a proto version of the 100 max players deathmatch, just like in H1Z1: King of the Kill and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Making the name big

He has been invited by Sony Online Entertainment to consult in order to improve their own battle royale mode which later become H1Z1: King of the Kill.

So after all, Brendan Greene has been both involved in creating not just his master piece PUBG, but H1Z1: King of the Kill too.

That’s what actually makes him special. Having the involvement into the creation of the beasts, “Eurogamer discovers that sometimes he’s being accused for killing H1Z1, but he just denies that explaining that they are 2 different game modes. In addition, Brendan Greene explains that H1 is a bit more arcadey on the kills while Arma 3 is more simulation, making it slower, tactical and very stimulated game”.

You can easily compare this two franchises like Brendan does. Just imagine we’re speaking about League of Legends and Dota 2. Over here, we are also talking about the same type of games that both involves Brendan Greene and his outstanding mind.

Being creative is welcome for everyone. That’s what Brendan did. He didn’t hurt anyone, instead, he wanted to make a success on his own. We are glad he did! Everyone is struggling for that kind of success.

At last, PC Gamer also confirms the success of Brendan and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Conclusion

Do not quit the thing you’re doing, one day, everything will come in your way. What’s yours, it will come on its own. Just make sure you do not quit whatever you do. Time matters, patience is a key to success.

Now, after selling a lot of PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds copies, Brendan is probably enjoying his life. Being a millionaire is what everyone wants to achieve in his life. Hopefully, Brendan will keep on working on his projects and make the gaming world even more exciting.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
