Minecraft Dungeons’ New Update makes it run at 4K 120FPS on Xbox Series X

When the Xbox Series X/S got released, Microsoft has shifted a big portion of its goals towards improving older games on their new systems. Minecraft Dungeons is the latest entry to that list.

With the game’s newest 1.8.0.0 update, Mojang has added several visual and performance improvements for Minecraft Dungeons. The game now runs at 120FPS at 4K on the Xbox Series X, while the Series S can get up to 60FPS on 1440p.

The update also adds a lot more content to Minecraft Dungeons, along with the improvements. The Nether DLC was also released recently for the dungeon crawler.

For those unfamiliar, Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon crawler developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven and published by Xbox Game Studios. It is a spin-off of Minecraft and was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on May 26, 2020.

  1. After updating to the x/s version today Minecraft Dungeons is running much worse on my Series X. I have redownloaded multiple times. I have purchased all the dlc.

Didn’t have performance issues prior to the patch
