Everspace 2 Will Receive First Major Content Update, “Armed and Dangerous,” on October 2nd

Developed by Rockfish Games, Everspace 2 is set to immerse players even deeper into the vastness of space with its first major content update, “Armed and Dangerous.” The release is scheduled for October 2nd and will be available on PC and consoles at no extra cost.

Since its initial launch on PC, Everspace 2 extended its reach by making a splash on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S this past August. Taking a departure from the original game’s roguelike formula, Everspace 2 now emphasizes a narrative-driven experience in an expansive open-world setting.

Here’s a glimpse of what “Armed and Dangerous” will bring to the table:

New Gameplay Mechanics

  • Gamers can look forward to 10 fresh item sets comprising 34 new item variants. Additionally, there are four new catalysts and an impressive list of 40 new item attributes. Players will also get the power to reroll item attributes. To spice things up, there will be a new Khala perk and a Tareen perk, providing added gameplay depth.

Ship Customization Overhaul

  • Enhancing the customization depth, there will be 15 new Tier 4 wings. Players can also revel in the new ship color and module randomizers, which promise a fresh aesthetic experience with each iteration.

Quality of Life Upgrades

  • This update will make the gaming experience smoother with features like quicksaves and quickloads, an improved auto-save function, and PC-exclusive Inertia Dampener customization. UI enhancements, such as new set item icons and a 21:9 aspect ratio HUD, will further refine the game interface.

Rockfish Games has also been sharing tantalizing sneak peeks of the forthcoming content during their weekly Everspace 2 streams on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Fans eagerly await Community Ambassador Erik’s grand reveal on September 22nd, where more unseen game assets and features will be showcased.

Additionally, digital aficionados have a treat in store. Come October 2nd, the Everspace 2 artbook and Official Soundtrack digital versions will be up for grabs on Steam and GOG. The art book, boasting over 280 pages, promises a visual treat, while the 30-track album offers a synth-wave delight for audiophiles.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
