Octopath Traveler 2 Expands its Journey to Xbox in Early 2024

Square Enix's latest title joins the Xbox roster after major successes on other platforms.

Square Enix’s heralded RPG, Octopath Traveler 2, is set to journey onto Xbox platforms in 2024. The announcement was a delightful surprise to Xbox gamers, who eagerly anticipated its arrival. Initially launched on the PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, the game’s arrival on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Microsoft Store is a testament to its widespread appeal.

Octopath Traveler 2 is the sequel to the original title that brought us the mesmerizing HD-2D visual style, a fusion of 3D environments and nostalgic retro sprites. This innovative blend is a fresh take on classic RPG visuals, enhancing the immersive gaming experience.

In the sequel, players can expect to embark on new adventures with eight novel characters, each bearing unique narratives and Path Actions. These characters often cross paths, providing a rich tapestry of interconnected stories and missions. Your decisions in-game can have wide-reaching effects, from influencing NPCs to engaging in trade or occasional combat with bystanders.

Staying true to its roots, Octopath Traveler 2 retains the original’s Break and Boost mechanics. Gamers familiar with the series will recall the strategic depth these systems added to battles. Players can magnify their attacks for devastating effects by identifying and exploiting enemy vulnerabilities.

Octopath Traveler 2 is more than just another RPG; it’s a sensation. By June 2023, the game recorded over one million worldwide shipments and digital downloads. Its imminent arrival on Xbox platforms is another exciting chapter in its legacy.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
