PlayStation Plus Premium Adds Baldur’s Gate 3 and Gollum Trials

PlayStation Plus Premium now offers trial access to Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, two significant RPG titles that have sparked interest among gamers due to their contrasting critical receptions.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is now offering a two-hour trial for PlayStation Plus Premium members. This is a great opportunity for players to explore the game’s expansive world. With a Metacritic score of 96, it is currently tied as the highest-rated game of 2023 and has received widespread acclaim for its gameplay and narrative. The game has also received numerous accolades, including eight nominations at The Game Awards 2023. Additionally, a physical Deluxe Edition of the game is scheduled to be released next year, making it available for Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a game that offers a one-hour trial, which is quite different from other games. However, this game has faced a lot of challenges in its development process, which is evident from its lower Metacritic score of 34. The game was released with bugs and performance issues, and it was described as a “well-intentioned mess,” which is a far cry from the expectations of Tolkien’s world. The developers have admitted the game’s shortcomings and have pledged to improve it through future updates.

PlayStation Plus Premium offers game trials ranging from less than an hour to as much as five hours. These trials, more than just playable demos, allow subscribers to unlock trophies and save their progress, which is carried over upon purchasing the full game. Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum join other notable titles like Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion and Sifu, improving the diversity of the platform’s trial offerings.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
