Halo Infinite’s Exciting December Update Will Add Firefight Mode, Repair Field Equipment, and More

Halo Infinite is preparing for its next major update, launching on December 5. The game, which has seen a significant rise in player numbers since the launch of Season 5, continues its positive trajectory with new content and improvements. The latest details shared on Halo Waypoint give us a glimpse of what to expect in this mid-season update.

The update’s highlight is the addition of Firefight: King of the Hill, a fan-favorite PvE mode from the Halo franchise. This mode will challenge players in groups of four to battle against the Banished across nine maps, including popular locations like the House of Reckoning. Fans can look forward to a detailed blog on this mode, set to be released on December 4.

Another intriguing feature is the Repair Field equipment, reminiscent of Halo 3’s regenerator. This equipment will heal and repair everything within its radius, be it allies, enemies, vehicles, or even downed Spartans in specific game modes. This innovative addition is sure to add new strategies to both PvE and PvP scenarios.

The update will also enhance Ranked Extraction and CSR (Competitive Skill Rank), focusing on improving the overall ranked play experience. Additionally, Forge mode will receive substantial updates, including adding all high-value targets from the campaign, allowing players to enable and disable skulls, and making various quality-of-life improvements.

Emphasizing stability, this update will address several crashes and improve online experiences with updates to networking. This includes testing a new networking model in the Firefight: King of the Hill playlist, which will provide valuable insights before implementing it in PvP modes.

Halo Infinite continues to evolve, and this December update is another step in its journey. With the addition of Firefight, new equipment, and numerous improvements, the game is set to offer a richer and more engaging experience for players across Xbox and PC platforms.

After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
