The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Reveals ‘No Return’ Mode with 10 Unique Playable Characters

Sony and Naughty Dog have announced a new roguelite mode titled ‘No Return‘ for The Last of Us 2 Remastered version on PS5. This addition is a fresh coat of paint on the beloved narrative and a transformative approach, offering players a varied and engaging experience.

Revealed via the official PlayStation UK Twitter account, ‘No Return’ will feature 10 playable characters from the game’s universe. This lineup includes fan favorites and pivotal figures like Ellie, Joel, and Abby, each bringing their unique playstyle and characteristics to the fore. This character diversity allows players to experience the grim and captivating world of “The Last of Us Part 2” through different perspectives, adding depth and replayability to the game.

As per Naughty Dog, the inclusion of characters such as Tommy, Dina, Jesse, Lev, Yara, Manny, and Mel is not just for narrative richness but also for gameplay variety. Each character is designed with distinct traits and playstyles, encouraging players to adapt and strategize differently with each playthrough. This design choice is a nod to the roguelite genre, where variability and unpredictability are key elements.

While the core of The Last of Us Part 2 was its strong, character-driven story, ‘No Return’ seems to be an exploration into more gameplay-focused territory. The mode is rumored to have 12 levels, offering a substantial amount of content for both new players and veterans of the game.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
