Umurangi Generation VR arriving on Quest and PS VR2 in 2024

Photographers are going to love this game, especially the new versions that are coming soon.

PLAYISM and Origame Digital have officially announced the upcoming release of Umurangi Generation VR for PlayStation VR2 and Quest on April 18, 2024. Building on the success of its predecessors, Umurangi Generation initially debuted on PC via Steam on May 19, 2020, followed by releases on Nintendo Switch with Umurangi Generation Special Edition on June 5, 2021, and Xbox One on May 17, 2022.

Umurangi Generation VR takes the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic photography simulator into the immersive realm of virtual reality. Set in Tauranga Aotearoa, players become avid photographers working as couriers for the Tauranga Express. Document the world’s bleak state and its residents through the lenses of your camera, exploring the narrative through a unique and expressive grading system.

The VR version offers a heightened sense of immersion, allowing players to observe the impending doom firsthand and interact with the environment in a more natural way. With a focus on creative freedom, Umurangi Generation VR presents players with “Photo Bounties,” encouraging them to explore their creative sides and express themselves freely through photography. The game emphasizes a unique grading system based on content, color, and composition, but rejects predefined rules on what constitutes a “good” or “bad” photo, giving players complete creative control.
