Palworld Pokémon-like resemblance, Catch ’em all or Eat ’em all?

We have a new game on the horizon, and we must say, it looks a lot like something we all know and love, Pokémon.

Palworld, as the ones behind the game like to call it, is a new and upcoming multiplayer monster-collecting game with open-world elements added to it. Now, this game is set to debut on January 19, 2024, which is only days away.

We are utterly puzzled by how the game looks in the gameplay trailer, which Pocketpair shared on X. It is astonishing how similar Palworld is to our beloved Pokémon world, down to the monsters, as well as the way these said monsters move in the open world. The only different thing is that the Pals (monsters) do have weapons with them, while our Pocket Monsters do not carry any sort of weapon with them.

Each Pal that is available in Palworld, which is over 100 Pals, has its ability and can engage in a battle with Field Bosses. You can use them to help you in your expedition, or you can use them to either fight or work on farms or in factories. You can sell them if you want. Another bizarre feature is that you can eat these Pals.

By now, you have already made up a picture yourself of the similarities between Palworld and Pokémon, and here is another set of similarities that you might’ve not noticed:

  • Each Pal has its No. in the paldeck, much like Pokémon and PokéDex.
  • Each Pal has its abilities, just like Pokémon have their movesets.
  • Similarities in looks between Pals and Pokémon, such as Piplup, Ampharos, Suicune, Lucario, Zorua, Dratini and many more.
  • Palworld gives major Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield vibes.

We really hope that the creators will not encounter any issues from Game Freak because you have to admit, Palworld really looks like Pokémon. From all the info we have, Palworld looks great, and we must give it a try once it comes out on January 19, 2024.

The good thing is that starting January 16, 2024, we will all have more insight into the game, because content creators will be streaming Palworld.

Make sure you check it out and share your opinion with us about the game that might cause some disturbance in the gaming world.
